Confirm the exact meeting place
Ask the provider for a current address or map pin and a description of where to meet. Check whether the location changes with conditions. Reaching the railway station or the broad beach area is not the same as checking in with your instructor.
Check the transport on your date
Carcavelos is on the Cascais railway corridor. Consult CP for the actual service and notices before travelling, especially during infrastructure work. Build a margin for the walk, equipment collection and changing rather than arriving at the time the water session is due to begin.
Ask what your companions can do
If only part of the group is taking a lesson, agree where everyone will wait and meet afterwards. Think about shade, wind and the needs of children or anyone with limited mobility. Choose an alternative together in case the provider moves or cancels the session.
Keep the afternoon open
Leave room for lunch and recovery before a second activity. Pack dry clothes separately and check when hired equipment must be returned. A comfortable first experience is more useful than a schedule so full that every delay becomes a problem.
